If your site is missing some content after doing a backup restore or copy a site to a different environment in WP Engine, try the following fixes.
Missing images. #
If your site is not loading some images on the new environment, try using the Replace URL tool from Elementor: WordPress Dashboard → Elementor → Tools → Replace URL.
Missing language link on navigation. #
If the Español or English link disappeared from your navigation on the new environment, try visiting the following page (you don’t need to click on save or anything else, just open that page): WordPress Dashboard → WPML → Languages.
Missing icons. #
Previously, we have covered many different reasons why the icons may not be loading on the site if using FontAwesome. But here is most common solutions when they don’t load on a new environment if they were loading in the original environment. Be sure the domain is white-listed on the FontAwesome kit:
- Go to https://fontawesome.com/kits
- Click on the name of the project.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the Domains section and add the domain of the new environment if it’s not listed in the white-list. Note that mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com are 2 different domains. For a more complex explanation, click on the “Full details” link that is on that section.
