Website Accessibility

What is Website Accessibility?

Web accessibility is the inclusive practice of ensuring there are no barriers that prevent interaction with, or access to, websites on the World Wide Web by people with disabilities. When sites are correctly designed, developed and edited, all users have equal access to information and functionality. (Definition from Wikipedia)

Our Website Accessibility Services

We do our best to make sure our website and the sites we make are as accessible as possible, but to make a website that meets all of the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) a lot of work, planning and ongoing maintenance is required. We at MIGHTYminnow are continuously expanding our knowledge, practice and implementation of the WCAG in our work. If accessibility is a priority for your project we can work with you to formulate an accessibility plan when developing your site.

Sometimes it is a requirement that a client’s website meets accessibility guidelines and is in compliance with accessibility laws. We have experience working directly with WebAIM to achieve website accessibility certifications (see our case study). If certification is not required, we can provide a website evaluation using accessibility tools and define a plan to resolve any accessibility issues the site may have.
