# Sync Media Library

1. use [Export Media Library](https://wordpress.org/plugins/export-media-library/) to download ONLY THE ORIGINALS (no thumbnails - this is what this plugin does). 
    - I have found the blogvault server (from a BV staging) works more reliably than pressable.
2. use [add from server](https://sfclcstage.mystagingwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/add-from-server.zip) to upload ONLY THE ORIGINALS (the thumbnails are created when the add from server is done) 
    - You will have to do this on a per month basis, but it's not hard. If some months already have items with thumbnails, MAKE SURE NOT TO ADD THE THUMBNAILS to the media library. They have an x in their file name in the notation of the size. Do a find on the page for x, exclude those, and make sure you aren't excluding something where the x doesn't indicate size.
3. when importing blog posts, DO NOT pull over images 
    - just change the image path in the xml file before uploading to point to the dev server.
