Website Development

Our Work

Some design companies have a web section in their portfolios but the images are of sites that never got built or that were just creative explorations. We are not one of those companies. Web design and development is what we do, and all of the images below represent (and link to) live websites.

We helped the California Wilderness Coalition to refine their calls to action, improve their website design, streamline their website architecture and become proficient in website maintenance using Adobe Contribute.

  • Picture of Raphael House homepage

Raphael House needed an updated, current website design, and a site that was more search engine friendly and modern. They wanted something upbeat that utilized a lot of the photography they had that had been shot on site. We worked with them to create a dynamic new design, implement it in a standards compliant way, and extend that design through to a blogger template that they could use to easily connect with their community. In addition, we built them a custom web application where they could keep track of volunteers and make sure that volunteer inquires got routed to the right staff member. Finally, we provided them with on-site Dreamweaver training so that they could update their own website

  • Picture of Diamond Design Co. homepage

Diamond Design Co. sells custom made jewelry online using a Yahoo Stores e-commerce application. We worked with them to migrate from a tweaked Yahoo template to a fully custom, professional design. We created several interchangeable image sets for them highlighting different customer demographics and special occasions. We implemented the new design on a series of educational and promotional pages, and we worked with them on the code needed to update their design within the Yahoo Stores application.

Additionally we developed matching newsletter templates to integrate into Constant Contact, an email newsletter subscription service, providing the client with a complete communication, marketing and branding strategy to compliment the new site.

  • Picture of Dolorata homepage

Dolorata's website was built around their impactful new logo - to create a hard rocking, nightclub like atmosphere that was still highly functional and easy to navigate. We worked with them to make their album easy to purchase, easy to download and easy to listen to online. We set them up with Adobe Contribute, and trained them to update their own content so that they could keep their site current with the latest news and shows.

  • Picture of Lou's Village Exhibit homepage

We have worked with History San José on many online exhibits. This exhibit highlights the history of a San José institution, Lou's Village. We created a fun, custom, engaging remembrance of this historic locale. In addition to graphic design, architecture and regular website development, MIGHTYminnow created a back end application that HSJ uses to export records from their vast object collection and then display those records online easily. This application is in use throughout many of the HSJ online exhibits.

  • Picture of Rock and Feather homepage

Rock + Feather created this beautiful website design, which they brought to MIGHTYminnow to develop. Using the latest coding techniques, we built them a lean, search engine friendly site that they can update themselves.

  • Picture of BDTC homepage

Ballroom Dance Teachers College is near and dear to our hearts. As a former participant in the program, Kristin has driven the last two versions of the BDTC site design. This iteration was focused on utilizing a special palette (similar to the interior design in the client's home!) and emphasizing the grace, beauty and dignity of ballroom dancing. Building the site with a special focus on ease of maintenance, this site uses Dreamweaver Templates and many special features that make it a breeze to update in Adobe Contribute.

  • Picture of Prairie Underground homepage

This site uses a minimalist design and fantastic photography to highlight the beauty of the clothing Prairie Underground designs. We work with them on an ongoing basis to update their new collections as they are released.

  • Picture of MBA Nonprofit Connection homepage

The MBA Nonprofit Connection came to MIGHTYminnow for an engaging, colorful, exuberant website design architected around three specific and different user groups. We re-architected the site, created a beautiful new website design, and prepared the site for maintenance by the MNC team using Adobe Dreamweaver.

  • Picture of Cannery Life homepage

This site, built for History San José is one of many online historic mitigation reports that MIGHTYminnow has been contracted to build. The design we created emphasizes the branding of the company and the stories of the cannery workers, utilizing rich imagery and historical photography. We did the design, development, and custom object display application to show relevant items from the HSJ collection.

  • Picture of Neighborhoods of San Jose homepage

Like the Lou's Village and Cannery Life exhibits, the San José Neighborhoods exhibit was custom designed by MIGHTYminnow to be elegant and impactful. For this project we story boarded and built a beautiful flash animation highlighting the transition of San José into the city it is today. This site utilizes the custom collection software that we created for HSJ in their gallery feature, and was built in an exciting collaboration between client and developer. We visited HSJ on site and worked side by side in taking the custom design we created and turning it into a website.

  • Picture of Rocket Dog Rescue homepage

Rocket Dog Rescue is MIGHTYminnow's pet project. (Pun is unfortunately intended.) We created this fun, lively engaging design and custom flash animation, as well as doing all of the site development. RDR's website is maintained ongoingly by a volunteer using Adobe Contribute, and was built in Dreamweaver for ease of maintenance.
